The cover page of the book looks gothic which perfectly represents the theme of the novel. You also get to see a unique flap design with a brief synopsis of the book printed on it.

The plot is about a sixteen-year-old girl, Louisa disappearing from a prestigious Catholic school along with her art teacher Mr. Lavelle with no trace. Twenty-five years later a journalist with a childhood connection to Louisa determines to resolve the mystery of the missing girl.

The story is narrated in two points of view and two-time settings: one by Louisa in the 1900s and one by the journalist in the 2000s. Set in the 1900's Louisa's story informs us a lot about the situations experienced by the students of that time duration in catholic schools.

'Someone has to die so that the rest of us value life more' is a quotation from the book that makes one think about life in a different way. It leaves you with goosebumps all over your skin.

'The fate can choose to come to the rescue of the hero' is a quote from the book which makes the readers pinned to the book wondering how the story would unfold in the coming chapters.

To sum up, it is a book that you would find hard to put down. Initially, it starts at a slow pace but it speeds up soon enough. I award this book a 5-star rating and would suggest this book if you prefer to read about art, mystery, friendship, love, and dark obsession.
