Looking for Alaska

The book that we shall be reviewing today is,' Looking for Alaska' written by John Green

John Green is an American author of young adult fiction novels and his well-known novels include. 'The fault in our stars', 'The paper towns' and 'Will Grayson, Will Grayson'.

The plot is narrated by Miles Halter's, who takes admission in Culver Creek following the footsteps of his father in search of the Great Perhaps. Meeting Alaska Young, a beautiful and wild young girl in his new school changes his life drastically.

The story follows the adventures they had together and reveals the depths of friendship and love. It further leads us into a heartfelt journey of losing a loved one and dealing with it. It's a brilliant work of humour and tragedy that shall break your heart.

'If people were rain, I was a drizzle and she was a hurricane' is an extract from the book that represents the nature of the main characters.

'At some point, you just pull off the band-aid and it hurts, but then it's over and you're relieved' is a quote from the books which explains how we assume that the things that would hurt us the most would kill us; but the hurt would last for only a while before fading away.

'Everything that comes together falls apart' is an extract that illustrates that if we figure out everything about life, it would leave us with nothing more to explore eventually making us fall apart.

'How will we ever get out this labyrinth of suffering?' is a cite from the book that delves us deeper into the universal truth that life is nothing but suffering for all that we desire and ones there is no desire, there shall be no suffering.

I shall recommend this book to you, if you'd like reading about friendship, love, and loss.
