The spy

The book we would be reviewing today is, 'The spy' written by Paulo Coelho.

Paulo Coelho is a Brazilian lyricist and novelist well known for his books, 'Veronica decides to die' and 'The Alchemist'.

The spy is the story of Mata Hari that is narrated in her voice and is part fictional. It is a historical book that takes us on a tour of the world during the first world war.

"When we don't know where life is taking us, we are never lost" is a quote from the book which explains to us that when we have no destination then we shall never have to be worried about losing our path.

"In a war, the first casualty is human dignity" is an extract from the book that reveals to us that in the times of war we do not think of right and wrong but only that we need to win the war and during the process, we lose our dignity and humanity.

"The most beautiful melody in the world will become a monstrosity if the strings are out of tune" is a quote from the novel that tells us that even the most beautiful instrument could prove to be a deadly weapon when in wrong hands.

"Every moment should be lived with feeling and emotion because if we try to decipher it and understand it, the magic disappears" is an extract from the novel that tells us that sometimes we just need to find the joy at the moment and try not to find a logical explanation to it.

I would recommend this book if you like reading historical novels or a fan of Paulo Coelho.
