Tricia Levenseller is an author of young adult fantasy fiction books also known for her works like, 'Daughter of the pirate king', 'Warrior of the wild'.

The story unfolds itself in Alessandra's viewpoint. Alessandra is a girl on a mission, having three simple goals. She wants to woo the shadow king, marry him and kill him to keep the kingdom, all to herself. As the story goes on, Alessandra starts to feel for the king and sway from her goals. Would she be able to succeed in achieving her mission, or would she fall in love?

'All the time in the world is worth nothing if I don't get to spend it with you.' is an extract from the book that tells us that we could live to be a million years old and still be unhappy, or we could choose the right person to be by our side and be the happiest human even if we live a short life.

'I think that when you care enough for someone, you reach a point where it's far more painful not to have him at all than to have him and risk losing him. You realize the risk is worth it. Because happiness, however short-lived, is always worth it.' is a quote from the book that says that we need to grab happiness even if it is short-lived. If we fear having something or someone only to lose it someday and push them away, it would be much more painful than not to have them at all.

'Doing the right thing is not always easy. And being the bigger person, the first to reach out with kindness, takes great strength of character.' is an extract from the book, that explains to us that is not simple for us to do the right thing and to be the bigger person to approach someone first with goodwill and it takes great strength of character to do so.

It is a perfect pick if you are into historical fantasy fiction. It would take you back in time to the royal court and enjoy a good romance.

I would request my readers to drop in comments about the book reviews you want to see next and the parts you liked more in the book.
