House of hollow is narrated from Iris's point of view, the youngest of the Hollow sisters. The Hollow sisters go missing mysteriously at a young age and come back after a month with no memories. When Grey, the eldest sister, goes missing again, Vivi and Iris are determined to get her back. While trying to do so, they get engulfed in things they never thought that existed. It is a tale that shows the strong bonding of sisters.

'That's a pretty heavy burden to bear, being everything for someone,' is a quote from the book which tells us that you cannot be everything to someone no matter how hard you try. The heavy expectations will crush you if you try.

'I'd realized there were scarier things in the world than the monsters that lived in my nightmares,' is an extract from the book that illustrates to us that as we grow up, we come to understand the harsh reality of the world, which is much more horrifying than the worst nightmares we had at a young age.

House of hollow is a modern dark fairy tale that will engulf you and haunt you for a long time. If you like reading about a sisterly bond, gothic, dark or, want a book that will help with your reading slump, here is your pick.

How do you shift your narrative tone so effectively between stories? I prefer to avoid being a one-trick pony. I love and appreciate all kinds of literature, from shamelessly pulpy, to “literary fiction”, to the bonkers experimental, to everything ...
